Update Menubar Icon to Indicate Nambu State

Edited on 09/22/09
I've noticed that, when launching, Nambu will show that I have unread tweets via the status bar icon, but that it is impossible to bring Nambu to the front because it is still downloading the tweets. This may not be an issue for anyone else with a faster machine, but on my iBook G4, I sometimes have to wait while Nambu finishes whatever it's doing in the background, and recognizes my click on the status bar icon.

Other times, I wonder if Nambu is actually working, because I sometimes go for long periods of time with no tweets delivered (turns out, my tweeps are just enjoying a lull in tweeting, but that doesn't keep me from wondering).

Sometimes, Twitter is having problems, and the only way to find out is to bring Nambu to the front, to read the "request timeline failed" message.

What I propose is to add the following colors/animations to the status bar icon, to indicate what's going on with Nambu (it's status, imagine that):

Black: There are no unread tweets, and everything's fine as of the last update check.
Red: New tweets have arrived.
Spinning "n" inside the speech balloon (either red or black): Nambu is polling Twitter for updates.
Flashing status bar icon (either red or black): an error with Twitter has occurred.
