Inappropriate?Unfortunately this is not what Twitter intends currently. We have some real issues with how Lists were implemented, and this is one of them: it is not integrated with your Home timeline at all.
You can currently do this in Nambu by hiding seen items, once you have marked as seen your Home timeline, they will be marked as seen in Lists as well.
We may add some options here to exclude tweets that are in your Home timeline, but it will not be on by default, because then we get emails saying Nambu is broken because tweets in Lists on twitter.com are missing from Lists in Nambu.

Inappropriate?My work-around has been to read my lists first, then read my Home timeline. I follow a few people that are quite prolific writers, and I don't want to hide them, so I have to read them first so they don't clutter up my Home timeline.
