Compose Input Fails to Paint Properly
When using the compose button in the combined view the bar at the bottom just comes up gray. The issues seems to happen inconsistently but can be reproduced with the compose bar open at the bottom when in the sidebar view and switching to the combined view.
I've attached a screenshot of the issue with version 1.9.0.4b (168) running on 10.6.

How many Twitter accounts do you have setup in Nambu? -
I have the same problem and have just downloaded and begun with 1.9.1.7b. I am using OS 10.6 and only have Safari and Mail open. I can type in a message and hit the return key and the message does show up on the main window.

Same here. 1.9.1.7b. OSX 10.5.8 Intel and two Twitter accounts. It happens straight away when selecting 'reply' from the contextual menu for example.

Inappropriate?... additionally, changing to another account also gives the gray area. Only solution is to quit. Can't reply, can't change account. Even just clicking on a message gives me the gray area... Can't use this version at all.

Yes, you would because we have not yet released the fix for this. We have it fixed in the development version we are tweaking currently. We have not updated now in 5 days because we have added two major features that are holding things up a bit.

Inappropriate?I'm having this too, just after setting up the first Twitter account.
To reproduce: Stay in Combined View. Delete you Twitter Account. Add your Twitter Account. Try to open the compose bar.
After switching to Sidebar View, the problem is solved and I always get the normal compose bar.
