Syncing between the Mac and iPhone versions could include keeping unread counts, searches, groups, etc in sync.

With Twitter's complete takeover over the iPad and iPhone we have decided to cease our iPhone development for the time being. We simply can't justify the investment of time there where we have to compete against the platform. It simply does not make any sense.

Inappropriate?Yes, we are working on this.
-
Inappropriate?Additionally, it would be great if it works for 2 macs (e.g. home and macbook), too. :)
-
Inappropriate?Yes, it will, centered around a single nambu.com account.

Inappropriate?A nambu.com account adds sync functionality for non Twitter API native features. Currently, this only applies to groups, which are synced through it; syncing the read / unread status of a specific account would be a logical extension of the "configure once, use anywhere" philosophy it represents.
This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled
Synchronize Read / Unread Status via nambu.com.

Inappropriate?I'll second the request of syncing of desktop/iphone data; if it would just know when I last read and mark prior's read that'd be a timesaver.
If not syncing through, a more minimal sol'n could be to automatically mark as read all tweets between what the app knows was last read on the local machine, and my last tweet that it just found downloading new tweets. That way, if I posted one from my desktop last nite, and in the morning I'm using Nambu on a laptop when I fire up Nambu I'm not forced to try and find my last post and mark everything prior to it read. -
Inappropriate? It would be great to have the same app on both devices.

Inappropriate?Understandable. Unfortunate, too. Any thoughts on up'ing the src to github so people can learn from it?

Inappropriate? Why not re-release the old version of Nambu for iPhone? I still have it and use it on my iPhone!

Inappropriate?I find the discontinuation of the iOS app too unfortunate. Currently I use Echofon on my desktop and iPod Touch over every other app because they sync unread messages.
I’ve only recently discovered nambu and LOVE it, only am completely missing its iOS companion. I like to check twitter on the go but get frustrated to no end trying to use two different apps to check it and having multiple false “unreads” to scroll through before finding the latest.
I think having an iPhone app that syncs seamlessly with your amazing desktop client would be perfect. Especially if the iOS app showed the feed for multiple twitter account in the same window. I don’t know of any other iApp that does that.
Here’s to hoping you reconsider.
FWIW, I’d pay for both apps in a heartbeat.

I’m happy to have found nambu but sad to discover there is no iOS app.

Inappropriate?I currently use tweetdeck on my iPhone only because I like being able to group my followed people. I don't always want to read everything when I'm on the go, I usually just want to check in with a handful of people I follow. Hopefully the iPhone app will be considered more in the future.
